Communication re Postponement of WMFRA Audit and Risk Committee Emergency meeting
It had been the intention of the WMFRA Audit and Risk Committee to hold an emergency meeting on 18 May 2022 to solely consider a report on Firefighter Pension Scheme Immediate Detriment. However, following discussions with colleagues, we reasonably expect there to be announcements about pending further information relating to Immediate Detriment to be provided at a meeting with the Home Office to be held on 18 May 2022.
As a result, the decision has been made to postpone the A&R meeting scheduled for 18 May 2022, with the report instead to be considered at the meeting of the Audit and Risk Committee on 6 June 2022. This will allow time for such updates as necessary to be made to the report, and ensure that the Audit and Risk Committee, in its capacity as the Firefighter Pension Scheme Manager, can consider the latest information. An updated version of the previously published report on Immediate Detriment will be made available in advance of that meeting.
